We were pleased to learn that our sponsor “Vigor Equipment/DamarInternational” has extended its UK Motorsport presence by sponsoring the UK’s foremost female VW Drag Racer Adele Woodbridge, and her husband Steve.

“Vintage Air” is a small business which specializes in sourcing and importing hard to find VW race parts from the USA. In the 4 ½ years the pair spent planning and building their racecar, they quickly built up a great network in America, which allowed us to start the business importing hard to find VW race parts which the UK Market is somewhat lacking
The pair behind “Vintage Air” competes in a highly modified, and concour’s prepared 1959 Volkswagen Beetle. With a 240bhp engine hanging out of the back, the blue bug is capable of an 11sec qtr mile at 118mph!
The UK car has been built with meticulous attention to detail and safety. Internally the Beetle features a full 8 point roll cage with a driver’s safety cell and integral seats. The engine is still a VW aircooled unit, but now displaces 2332cc's and runs with fuel injection and high octane race fuel. The engine produces over 240hp with no turbo or nitrous!
In their 'heads up' class, they compete against other VW's that run up to 600hp! Although not the fastest car they have proven to be one of the most consistent and thus produced numerous final round appearances taking class wins and a championship last year.
